Slab walnut and maple custom buffet

The 2" thick highly, figured Claro walnut slab is suspended on 3" above the solid curly maple cabinet by 3/4" rebar. The beautiful dovetail corners of the cabinet shows off the skill of the artist.
Size 10' L x 40" H x 20" D
The 10 foot base on this very unique piece was made out of one 12 foot curly maple slab. There is a center support with four feet that raise the buffet 8.5". The door fronts are framed in curly maple with Birdseye maple panels. The drawer fronts are made from thumbnail maple. The door and drawer pulls are ebony.
The two doors on either end open together to expose a large area with one shelf to allow for storage of large items. (36"W x 18"D x 24"H) The single center door opens for smaller item storage with one shelf. (18"W x 18"D x 24"H)
Each drawer accommodates felt inserts to store precious silver pieces of cutlery.

The back of this unit is also solid curly maple panels. This piece can be used as a room divider, or up against a wall.
The custom buffet is completed with a hand rubbed hard oil finish.
